One Pie at a Time

A Story from Inside the Heart of a Girl with a Gypsy Soul

dripping & delicious dutch apple pie

Do you bake? I do. Pies are my specialty—fresh, flaky, warm from the oven. I had no idea, in my younger years, how deeply baking would touch my life. I couldn’t have imagined the joy, comfort, or connection it would bring, especially in this later season.

Now, I can’t wait to share with you the laughter (the kind that makes your belly ache), the tears (yes, even the alligator-sized ones), the joy, the exhaustion, and the friendships that baking has given me. Oh, the stories! What seems like a simple art—mixing dough, rolling crusts, filling with love—has created moments worth savoring.

These stories may stir something in you too. Maybe you'll feel inspired to step into my kitchen and craft your own crust. I’ll help, I promise. Together we’ll bake your perfectly imperfect pie—a little masterpiece of joy. Because pie crusts, like our hearts, form the core that leads to the soul.

✨Do you have a hidden spark to create?
✨Are you stuck in a season of sameness?
✨Have you forgotten the magic of play, or pushed it aside thinking it’s frivolous?

If any of that feels familiar, I understand.

Not long ago, I was given the gift of a retreat. I didn’t feel worthy of it at all. Honestly, I hoped someone else would receive it instead. I arrived tearful, unsure, vulnerable. But the welcoming crew wrapped me in hugs and told me, “You’re in for a real treat.” And they were right.

The theme was The Power of Play. It sounded simple—even childish. Maybe even irresponsible, right? Like who has time for play when life demands seriousness? But what if your life is already brimming with play and you need a nudge toward grounding instead? Wherever you are, I hope the stories I share here will encourage you to take one small, hopeful step toward something new.

In this world, where it's easy to be overwhelmed by all the noise and worry, perhaps my pie stories—told from the heart—will offer a little comfort, joy, or even a laugh.

I know we won’t all share the same faith, ideals, or view of the world. That’s okay. I’m not here to convince or impress—I’m simply here to connect. Heart to heart, story by story, pie by pie. I’m pulling up a chair for you, with compassion, love, and a sprinkle of hope.

There’s risk in opening up. These stories aren’t shared for attention. They’ve just been waiting—inside the heart of a girl with a Gypsy Soul, grown now, a little more grounded, but ready to let the power of play dance through her days again.

Catch you on the next bake

With Love,

Tamara
